Les secrets de la Cabale…
"La baie d’Hendaye, dans laquelle se jette la rivière de la Bidassoa, est fermée au sud par les Rochers Jumeaux et le cap du Figuier. Ce dernier nom serait une allusion aux anciens navigateurs méditerranéens: ils auraient trouvé là un havre sûr, une escale sur la mystérieuse route des Cassitérides et des Hyperboréens. Des monnaies carthaginoises, dit-on, ont été découvertes sur la côte, entre Hendaye et Biarritz. Dans la ville, une grande croix de pierre se dresse contre l’eglise; elle est plantée sur un dé dont les quatre faces sont sculptées de symboles mysterieux. Sur trois de ses faces, on voit une étoile, un croissant de lune, une tête solaire; sur la quatrième, quatre A. La represéntation du soleil et de la lune se rapporte, d’après la tradition chrétienne, aux phénomènes astronomiques qui acompagnèrent la mort du Christ sur la croix. Et, dans l’imagerie basque, ce thème est l’un des plus frequents: on peut y voir comme un lien secret entre le christianisme qu’ils pratiquent aujourd’hui et leurs anciennes croyances astrales. Seuls les quatre A énigmatiques pourraient reliever d’une explication esotérique. Fulcanelli, dans ses ‘Mystères des cathédrales’, y a vu l’expression d’un des secrets que les maçons ont hérités de la Cabale…"
